Just a coupla questions regarding centre consoles :

are all xa/b/c consoles the same?

are sedans different to coupes?

XA & XB are the same but XC has a black vinyl covered trim piece instead of the woodgrain.XC also had a few more colours.XA & B were black or brown only.
The plastic silver trim ring on the top is also different.XA & B is flat,XC has 2 thin ridges running around it.
Consoles are the same for all body styles.

Sweet thanks for that - so i can get away with using xc sedan in my xa coupe then.

What about the gear indicator were they the same for all xa/b/c as well?

The xc insert around the gear selector can be removed and have the xa/xb type fitted no worries, done plenty of these.
XA also had saddle colour consoles.
The trim around the top of the console can also be removed and retro fitted with the earlier type.

Thanks for that guys

Had a trial fit with it tonight, think it will need a bit of modification to fit over hurst shifter - would it be possible to re-fit std t-bar shaft to shifter to fit through console hole or is modding the console only way round it?

After looking for the last 6 months for one and being told that i was dreaming if i thought i was going to find a tidy one for under $200 I was driving back from a job in the country passing through this wee country hick town spotted a couple of xc's at the top of a heap of cars, turned out to be a wrecker, pulled in and asked him if he had a console - he had two complete fairmont interiors so i grabbed both of the consoles @ $60 ea!!

both had broken latch and hinge but you can get repros from gt perf?
