Does anyone know whether it is possible to repair or recondition the rubber lids on these consoles?Most of the lids I have are cracked at the back above the ashtray.
Also,is it possible to remove and replace the lids without destroying the part which holds the pins?
And finally,can the wires be unhooked and re-attached without destroying them?
I have several good consoles and lids but the good lids aren't on the good consoles!
Yep, Gt Ford Performance does em, yes, very gently, no, you just remove the ash tray, and squash the little t-piece flat along the wire with needle nose pliars, then feed it all through the console hole. Sometimes you need a long shank flat blade screw driver to help poke it through the hole.
