Would someone please tell me what the correct rearwing is for a XB coupe?
I believe that there are 3 different versions,
1:long Aluminium
2:short Aluminium
3:Fibre glass
Also what would be the aprox cost of getting the correct one, if possible to get that is.
When you have one, what is the correct way to fit them as per factory way.
Thanking you up front for the efford .

I think the fatory spoiler was fibre glass and the aluminium were dealer fits. Earlier XY and XA were fibre glass from factory weren't they?

The *Factory fitted* Phase III XY GTHO wings were the fiberglass Boss 302 Mustang wings.
The Aluminium wings were dealer fit options (made by motorcraft?), came in a couple of different types.. but their mounting points (at least the one on my XY) mean drilling the mounting holes narrower by about 1" each side...
I've got a set of the "short" feet (aluminium wing) someone can have for the cost of postage... (they're not too flash cond)
There was also spacers used under the short feet used to make them the same height as the "long" feet.
The extensions were a bodgie after market item.
The XY was fibreglass as it was as you say a Mustang item, but the late type ones I am sure are different (aluminium).
Dealer fitted is just about factory fitted anyway, look at how many items the dealer has to fit now days.
Also the XC Cobra front bathurst type bars were supplied in the boot, but fitted at the dealership, so as they were not damaged in transit. Still classed as factory though.
Suppliying parts in the boot for dealer or owner fitment has long been a way of getting the parts homologated for race use, but the car sold as a road car... there was more than a few 70's muscle cars in the US came that way... and of course the BMS CSL 3.0 "batmobile" came with its bodykit in the boot...
Dealer supplied & fit is a bit different... were the McLeod "Horn Cars" factory?
Still the Question beckons on what is the correct 'wing on a XB Coupe.
I do appereciate very much the collective wisdom on this very subject.
I do not know to much about this subject and do want to learn and put the correct one on my "beast"
