I snatched a K code 351 4 speed XB GS Fairmont a couple of months ago. I have been sorting through my parts pile to make sure I am coverd with the few missing bits. The console was missing. Now the dilema. The seats are parchment. The dash (padded fairmont) and crash pad are black. The carpet at the botom of the door trims is brown!!! What colour carpet and centre console should it have?

Car was originaly polar white with no options other than the 351 4 speed GS pack and driving lights. Would make a great GT replica.

I believe the console should match the dash- black for GS. As for the carpet.... that's a good one.

brown carpet, the crash pad should also be brown, the padded glove box should also be brown. GS interiors weren't all black. Fairmonts are usually brown.

I don't suppose the car still has the painter's tags stuck to the back of the RHS radiator support does it? That would settle the dash colour question.... Would have either "brown" or "black" on one of them for demister panel (and hence, dash) colour.

If the interior is factory Parchment the dash,console & carpets would have been brown.The only cars with black carpets,console & dash that I have even seen have been factory black or white trim.
I have also never seen a mixture of black and brown in any XB interior.It's always one or the other.If your car is factory parchment I'd say that your dash has been changed or painted somewhere along the line or perhaps the car is a bitsa or the tags have come from another car.

Thanks mate. I found the brown trim in the boot of the car except the crash pad. The former owner was going to re trim in black. The car had been painted red pepper and just needs cutting and polishing. I dont know what I am going to do with it yet. Its been converted to a XB GT replica.
