I feel like a bit of a fool asking this straight after somebody asked about a XA, but anyway here i go.
I know its not quite the economical car that i was after but i spotted this on the way home.
Stats are as follows:
White XA Fairmont, 2 owners, garaged last 26 years (or so they say), 12 months rego, good body (for an xb) otherwise OK body, 302c, column shift auto, dual exhaust, OK white/cream interior (rips in door cards etc) but seats are good, towbar, cant remember what it had on the speedo - my bad.
Anyway, they've got $1,500 on it.
What do you reckon? is it worth the buy? And if so, what should i look out for on it, as i havent had a really good look.
Well, i went and had a look at it last night, and took my brother in law with me, (he's a mechanic), sounded great.
Until the lady selling it told us that she was taking the plates off. So i think im back in the market for a car... Plus the 302 is really going to chew through juice, or so ive been told.

Thanks for the replys,

Offer more for the rego it will be worth it & a stock 302 xb is good on the gas. Like most things it all comes down to how you drive it.
GO ON LIVE A LITTLE !

a standard 302 in XA-XB form is not too bad. Chuck a decent air cleaner on it and it will not be like a 4 cyl buzz box economical but pretty goos anyway. And the old classics just have a presence that later cars don't

I totally agree, not too many people are willing to cut me off when im in my wagon. Funny though, when i drive mums SR laser they dont seem to see me *shrugs*, just another reason to fire up the XY.
There really isnt anything like driving a big ol' car.
Having said that, theres not alot in the paper for me to buy to start my XY, i even circled a *gulp* VB SL/E, v8 duel fuel. Haha, i promise it was only because its duel fuel.
