Re: xb gt grill $

i think i got lucky about a year ago. i scored mine on ebay for $180 and paid $35 for freight. i would call it very good condition but not concourse. no cracks and one attaching tab was a bit damaged.
alternative would be going to a wrecker and finding a good standard one and getting a plastic welder to install the driving light rings.

Re: xb gt grill $

I wouldn't be will to pay too much for a 2nd hand one as it's possibly had 30+ years of sun/rain/dirt etc. It'd be brittle and break very easily. I have one in my Fairmont in that very condition. It breaks very easy. It's seen better days. My stock XB grille is in better condition.

Fair enough paying a decent price for one that not very old or new. Plastic after a 5 years is too brittle to be paying top $ for.

I'm like Nak302, I'd happily pay around $200 for a s/h GT/GS grille and $100 for a good s/h stock one. Imagine paying $500+ for a GS/GT grille and it breaks in transport due to it being brittle? Maybe even cracks during installation? I'd cry!

Don't forget the cost of the driving lights and brackets.

I know a guy who works for Ventura Plastics, used to be part of Ford. They had a re-run on XB/C grills in 1989 then they smashed the moulds with sledge hammers and put em in a skip.

Makes you sick dont it?
