A mate has put me onto a car that is apparently an XB Interceptor. It's pretty original but sounds like it could use a resto. It's a bare bones Falcon 500 Yellow with Brown trim, 351 T-Bar, 9" diff, power steer and no other options. I've been told it has the disk brake 9" with GT type track rods.
Can any of you Ford guru's shed some light on how I can verify it is an Interceptor? I may be looking at it this weekend.
Cheers.

cop cars had brackets under dash and also long range tanks, not sure what to look for but any coupe is a good coupe, and dont let this get away, it might be snapped up and sold OS for big $

Thanks Dodge, didn't think about the long range tank. This thing is a sedan, if it was a Coupe I would have had a deposit down already!!
Were there any coupes as Police cars?? Anyone heard of this?? Imagine how rare that would be!!

Yes there were, mainly in the local governments like the shire's.
Here in the old Shire of Wanneroo there was a XB GT in orange as a patrol car.
The copper who use to drive it lives a couple of streets away.
The car still exists and is with a collector in Balga way.
So look for the patched roof / linner etc.
The retired copper even has still got the pictures to proof it.
Problem is that it's been so long since they were in the possession of the police that a lot has changed. I am not aware of any coupes as police cars but I wouldn't be surprised at all if there was some. Things were somewhat different back then.
One thing to add is a speedo with fine increments
