Nah mate I did'nt get anything out of him, I know of about 7-8 in the Brisbane area but apart from me and perhapse 1 other family they don't appear to be the most social of people, buy that I mean they don't seem to be to keen on bringing their babies out to show the world, but that just how I see it.

Re: XC Cobra owners

I most immaculate XC cobra I have seen is/was owned by Ross Palmer of palmer tube mills, He is a Ford nut, it may be worth giving him a call.
It is one of the homologation specials, no 17 or 07, it has all the options, I think it was the display car a Bryan Byrt Ford at Mt Gravatt.

Re: XC Cobra owners

I've got #140. I have joined the national cobra car club but not the local one as yet (I think there is one, not sure as yet though). I bought mine about 18 months ago in a somewhat sad state. Effectively the panels are near on perfect but the car had been stripped and then stayed that way for 11 years collecting dust in a shed.

However now though, I am currently buying all of the spares I need to completely restore it and the panel/paint work will start in December/January. When I get around to buying a digital camera I will post some pics along with my fully restored XC GS ute (love those XC's).

Not sure when it will be finished though, maybe end of next year???

Regards
Paul

What I have been doing is looking at a number of sites and picking what I want. I then collate all of these parts into a list and I then took it into a local supplier (Superoo) and got him to quote/supply all of the parts.

The fellow that I bought the car was basically full of BS when it came to parts availability, that is, he said nothing was available but he could get it for me at a certain price, if you know what I mean. An example of this was the seat material, he said it would cost me $2,500, I bought from Mark (Falcon Cobra Car Club) for $1,000 - go figure.

What I am trying to say is that everything is available, you just need to know where to look. One problem has been that the XC is not a GT and therefore parts (repro) are not as readily available. However, as these cars are gaining in popularity, more stuff is becoming available. An example of this is the bonnet scoops, front and rear spoilers (Bathurst option as well as normal one).

If you can get me the locall clubs email it would be greatly appreciated. If you want an excel spread sheet of what I am getting and what it is costing me and suppliers, let me know. Sorry, I don't know who has #188. Globes, shouldn't be a problem. Try these two sites;

Re: XC Cobra owners

I kind of have one....
It was raced at Bathurst in 1979 by Gossy, it is in full Cobra regalia, on the dash plaque it reads "Cobra by John Goss Racing". It started life as an XBGT (JG66). So its not really a cobra I guess.

Re: XC Cobra owners

I would love to check that out Ned. Gossie did a lot of weird thing's in his day, and this one realy does'nt surprise me much, but I'd bet you've got one of his rarest toy's. So where do you live mate?
