I have a sheet for the 1976 XCs but not for the '78 update. Some new colours were added in '78 such as mine, Emerald green code V (yes, thats the same letter as Apollo blue on the XBs!)
The sheet I have doesnt haave the codes but they are in the workshop manual (but not the '78 codes!). Any particular colour you were after?

What code does your car have. My XC coupe is code 4, Neptune blue. Its best described as the blue on the Australian flag.

Other good colours for XC coupes are P, Pine N Lime (Yellow), H Flame red, those are the colours used in the XC brochure.

Re: xc colour codes

I am trying to track down the colour of an XC Fairmont coupe. VIN code is JG67SE and the paint code is H.

When I got it, it was red, so I am assuming from paulls' post it is the flame red.

I have a few sample cards but they are quite small. If I were to scan them and the reduce for posting, I think they would not be much help to you. I can however scan and email them to you. Bear in mind though that the actual size is about 25mm x 12mm (1" x 1/2") so even that will not give a good indication.

However, let me know by PM if yo want them emailed to you.

Paul
