Man , Genuine early GT Falcon prices have for a long time been expensive...But lately it seems to have got to the point where I cannot justify the cost !!! I could get some beatiful Classic Mustang , and in some cases ,significantly cheaper than a Genuine GT Falcon Sedan ...It's insane. Look at the price of an XY GT HO Phase III...You must be kidding !!! For that Money I could buy a New Honda CBR600RR Motorcycle , A Boat , A Holiday or 6 ,A Mustang...and still have enough change for a deposit on a house ...All I can say is 'Out of control'!!!
There's a lot of baby boomers buying cars now that they couldn't afford in their youth which isn't helping prices.
After what's happened to property prices during the same period there's also a lot of guys refinancing their homes to get a GT.
I wouldn't pay $100k+ for a XYHO but that's what it takes to even get a ratty one now. Ford stopped making them over 30 years ago so they're worth what ever people are willing to pay.
Mustangs are ok, but I'd take a GT over one any day :)
I dont think i need to say much more.. except for maybe, the only reason that the prices of Phase III and others are so high is simple, there is too high of a demand for them, and not enough supply. Hell i saw a replica Phase III for sale for $28G !! For a REPLICA!
I do agree the prices are a little high, but you can always buy a shyte one, and restore it. IMO a much more satisfying experience that buying one thats ready to go.
I remember looking for XA GT's back in '89 and you could get an average one for $7,000 and a immaculate one for $10,000.
Now you be lucky to find an immaculate one for less than $20,000.
Just like land, as long as there is people who will pay the high prices they just keep putting them up higher and higher.
