Ok sooooooooooooooooooooooooo this might sound like a STUPID question but please hold back your laughter to a small scream! (youve been warned)
I'm looking at buying an XTGT and it appears to have a Cleveland in it, which i know was never the case, however it is manual and supposed to have a 289 Windsor, is there an easy way to identify a Windsor to a clevo??.
And in there anything else i should look out for in this car?
Any feedback will be appreciated.
Should be a 302 winsor, not 289 on XT GT.
The quickest way to tell is to look at where the top rad hose goes into the motor. On a clevo it goes directly into the top of the engine block next to the dizzy, and on a winsor the top hose goes into the front of the intake manifold.

OK so attention to detail is required by ME, i meant to say 302 NOT 289, cause this died with the XR.
Thank you for your feedback and help!
Also Cleavland's have an extension housing that is part of the block for the timming gear to sit in with a flat plate over it where as Windsor's have an extra peice that bolt's on/off.

Thanks to all of you who have taken the time to reply to my question.
I now understand the quick ways to I.D a Windsor Vs Clevo!
Would you guys still buy a XT GT that has a cleveland in it even if it were an original car (less the engine of course).
The specs are as follows;
Zircon green
4 Speed manual
5/10 body requiring some work.
8/10 interior except an aftermarket radio is fitted.
Non standard rims (12 slots) without the dress rims.
Service books supplied
Dodgy type of seller!
What would the going rate for this type of GT be??

Does it have i.d. plate, shock tower no's? Is it the original body - can you find different colour paint anywhere?
Take someone who knows what they're looking at OR don't buy it. Another car will come up sometime.
