XW/XY Ute Twin Petrol Tanks

Hey Guy's,
Just a quick question on the type of set up that was run in these utes. Did they have seperate fuel lines to the engine bay, or did one tank feed into the other some how? I've got a spare tank and was wondering what was involved in the set up.
Cheers,
Pete.

Re: XW/XY Ute Twin Petrol Tanks

My father inlaw used to have an xy ute with twin tanks that had a balance pipe and only one fuel line to the motor, but it was very slow to fill, and would not pick up all the fuel in the second tank. Alterentivly, I saw a twin tank set up at the lancefeild swapmeet about 5 years ago that ran twin fillers, but you would need to weld another bracket into the righthand quarter to accept the neck.

Thinking about it I don't see how you cauld run twin fuel lines to the carb though, you would need some type of self levling pipe between the two tanks like on a truck.

Re: XW/XY Ute Twin Petrol Tanks

Twin fillers r the go
Use a tank out of a xk-p ute that puts the sender unit in the same spot at the back as a xr-y ute
Hope this helps
