cool Xy SUS PEN

Hi, I have bought some pedders springs lowered 2.5" for my Xy and i am wondering what are the best shocks to use with these springs, I would like good quality ones but not too expensive because i dont have much money. $50-$100 each would be O.K.
Tell me what you used on your FORD and tell me what you think!
THANKS
TOM

Re: Xy SUS PEN

Just about any gas shock will do a decent job. I had Pedders comfort in a superlow springed front end on my old XB. In the new one I have pedders red h/duty gas.

Gabriel do a decent shock. Check out ebay some bargains are there to be had.

Re: Xy SUS PEN

If they are the race springs, you will need revalved Koni's.

What are revalved Koni's and why would i need them for racing springs?
What is the price for those?

The red Koni's that are usually run on road cars are valved to suit the spring rates that road cars have. Race springs are usually a lot stiffer than road springs, hence the valving inside the dampener has to be modified to cope with the higher spring rate.

Re: Xy SUS PEN

Email Ringwood auto parts to ask. I've dealt with them before for parts on my XB. I can't remember the guys name but he's very helpful. I bought a couple of pairs of discs and brake pads.

A mate of mine bought a whole frontend kit for an XB. The only part that were crap was the camber bolts. The material the camber bolts were made from was too soft. So don't buy them from there. My mate also runs the Gabriel shocks in his XB wagon (now written off) and his XB coupe. The ride is good.

Gabriel shocks are decent quality for the $.
