429 engine help

I am in the process of rebuilding my 429.

Block DOVE -A
Heads DOVE -C
intake DOVE -C

I have three ?'s

How much HP am I looking at keeping this thing stock?

Is there much difference if I go to an aftermarket intake?

What camshaft can I put in it to give it decent increase in power but without a lopey idle.

it is going in a 2100lb car

cool Re: 429 engine help

Rebuilt to stock specs, you ought to have a realistic 320HP with those parts.

An aftermarket dual plane intake will help, as will a mild cam. Slight power upgrade w/o lopey idle? Something along the lines of a Summit Cam # SUM-3500 will do that. There are lots of cams out there and better choices, depends on the overall build and application.

One final recommendation while the engine is apart is to do some head porting, particularly on the exhaust side. That will wake the engine up.
