Electric Water Pump

Is anyone using an EWP on a 460?

I'm still stuffing around with cooling issues. It would help immensely if I could get a 16" thermo on to the back of the radiator (currently running an alloy aussie desert cooler with twin 14" thermos front mounted) but there is no clearance in the XB.

I'm wondering how the EWP sets up. Do they provide extra space in lieu of the standard waper pump to the front of the engine?

Re: Electric Water Pump

Max,..... I had the same cooling probs., I am using C.R.S. Engine mounts and found the engine was mounted too far forward for my likeing ( I have a 4 core radiator and wanted to mount a 16" thermo behind the radiator).
I cut the front of the locating tube from the subframe adaptors ( 5/8'' approx.) and put it too the back of the subframe adaptor, this allows the engine to be mounted ( 5/8" approx. ) closer to the firewall.
I have fitted 2 x 16" Thermo fans,(staggered ) one in front and one behind the radiator, they overlap in the middle of the rad and I have no more cooling probs.

Not sure what electric water pump you a talking about?......the drag race style that mounts to the original water pump, or the Davies Craig electric pump that fits into the bottom Rad. hose?
Hopes this helps.
Cheers.
