Hello Craig,
The engine appears to be from a 1972 Production run as indicated by some markings on the cylinder heads, intake manifold, and the images of the block.
For the most part, all 1971-1978 short blocks are the same, however the single year, 1972 cylinder heads are not desirable for a high performance naturally aspirated engine and should be replaced. D3VE-A2A heads are the easiest and most direct replacement and good for at least 400 hp or more depending on combo.
