confused hello all

hello all
I'm new here, I have a question about 429/460 heads. I have stock heads casting number #d3ve-a2a. My question, is it worth the price of reworking,hardened seats and what not for possible 450 to 500 hp.Or should I look for something else. I.E. remanufactured or new aluminum.

Welcome,

the heads are capable of flowing approx 600 hp but will need lots or work to do it, the money it would take, you would be better off geting aluminium heads that bolt straight on and will flow more out of the box.

There is no substitute for cubic inches but my pursuit sure closes the gap




*UPDATE * Pursuit has just run 11.763 and 116.18 mph making it Australias Quickest and fastest unopened boss as well as Australias Quickest and fastest naturally aspirated Boss

thanks guys, you saved me a lot of trouble. After futher teardownI realized it is 429 ci not 460ci. Which doesn't bother me at all.I'm thinking of just a strait rebuild and go from there. The motor is going in an 1990 mustang,it should run pretty good stock. Thanks again, Any input would be appreciated.
