will a c6 that was bolted up to a 390 bolt up to a 460?
also will the power steer and aircon units and brackets bolt up to a 460 in an xc?
also will the tail shaft fit?
The parts came out of a galaxie....

i know i'm asking alot but any help would be apperciated cheers

No, C6 transmissions are engine family specific as the bellhousing & trans are a one piece casting ie, small block C6 will only fit Cleveland or Windsor, FE (390 etc) will only fit FE, & 385 series (429, 460 etc) will only fit these engines (but will also suit 351M & 400M).
Power steer, AC, etc will require different brackets to fit 460. Tailshaft will require shortening and possibly a different size rear uni (depending on diff being used).
If your looking to unload the 390 stuff let me know.

i bought the gearbox off a guy in newcastle from ebay... the rest of the 390 gear was still on ebay last time i looked... his email address is pennyjohn1@bigpond.com.au give him a buzz he still has a bit of 390 stuff....

A 390 C6 definately will not fit a 460, the rear block mounting is completely different
