to much fuel??

ive got a 460 from a 75? f250 in a truck i just picked up, its got a highrise intake and an rv cam.. thats all i know about it.. it seem that the carb is out to lunch but i dont know jack about carb but everytime i got to give some love it almost trys to sputter like its got a hesitation for a few seconds unless u feather the peddle a little then it goes fine... also when the engine has a load on it like gearing down it makes a small puff of white smoke from the exhasut, does it the odd time when i pin it also for the first second or two.. and the only other problem is a small oil leak just behind the water pump on the block side, would that just be a timing cover gasket???

Re: to much fuel??

Just a guess

The carb issue sounds like a bad accelerator pump.

The oil leak could be the timing chain cover or the front intake 'lip' seal.
