I have a 1984 f250 with the 7.5 460.
i just put a brand new alternator and it is still not charging
wirering is not my longsuit
please help!!!

Could be a bad voltage regulator.

voltage regulator is good i tested that

It could be possible you got a bad alternator.

I had the alternator tested it is good

Sounds like a typical parts thrower. Did you test anything ? Do you have B+ voltage ?
Do you have Field voltage ? Light or gauge ? Makes a difference. Full flow amp gauge or
shunted volt meter? also makes a difference. Some charging systems are fused. Is yours ? How could you possibly test an electronic regulater ? Remember that an alternator will not charge a dead battery. If you have changed an alternator and regulator for no reason you have spent almost the same amount of money to have it professionally repaired. You might want to return your new alt and reg. but i dought that will ever happen. Fix your wiring problem. No offence but you don't know what your doing. Your own words. You will spend money you don't need to. Send it out. Good luck.
