My Motor home (1977 Ford E350 with 460) has a fine running engine (rebuilt@95thosand) but it has an irritating quirk of reving slightly when you come to a stop You brake for the stop sign, engine slows down and then just as you stop it gives up to three rev pulses and then comes to a smooth idle, any ideas??? and allso, I am thinking of replacing the old stock carburator (1977) with what???

do you have a vacuum leak anywhere in booster line or brake booster itself.
also fuel economy would be a high priority for you as a traveller when choosing a carb i would be thinking along the lines of a rochester spreadbore, what sort of carb is on vehicle now can it be reconditioned.
