HEY ,

HAS ANYONE EVER USED THIS SETUP BEFORE ?. WITH GEARS INSTALLED AND TOP GEAR TORQUED, IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THIS SETUP IS PULLING THE CAM UP TIGHT TO THE CAM RETAINER PLATE, HENCE NO END PLAY, IS THERE SOMETHING THAT I'AM MISSING ?. DO I NEED A SPECIAL CAM PLATE? NEVER USED THIS SETUP BEFORE. (THIS IS A 460 BY THE WAY).


I MUST BE A DUMB .
THATS OK, NOBODY EVER CALLS ME A MECHANIC !!

The camshaft sprocket thrust surface ususally requires machining with the use of the Torrington bearing.

What brand, and didn't it come with instructions?

The gear setup was from pro-comp really had no instructions. The top gear has a place that the bearing sits in. Maybe I need to have it cut some more, what kind of cam end play should there be ?.............. now it did come with bearing and two washers, its really about a thickness of one of those washers too thick . Do you have to use both washers, one on each side... again not sure ....maybe I need to call pro-comp on this.
