We are trying to find out how much a ford 460 big block weights. We are building a super pro ranger w/tube chassis and want to but a 460 in it but before we do we need to know how much it weights so everything can be adjusted before hand. (ie springs etc.) Thank you in advance

so with alloy heads and manifold do you think it would come down to the weight of a clevo whatever that is

573 lbs according to that link.One of the guys on fordmuscle just did an alloy head bb swap in a mustang and only gained 60 lbs in total over the clevo

I just returned from Weighing "The Yellow Monster"

We have a total weight gain of "Sixty Pounds"

With the Cleveland the weight slip was 3,700 pounds, with the 468 (aluminum head) BB the new weight slip is 3,760 pounds.

thats not bad at all, proves the myth wrong about all that extra weight problem. i know its over the front end but 30kg really aint that bad.

Yes then you move the battery to the back as well and it's nearly the same weight.

I DONT KNOW WHAT WHAY ARE TALKING ABOUT BUT MY 460 WITH CAST HEADS, WET. WAS 803.4 LB. AND I AM 100% ON THAT
