i am chasing a work shop manual of the good type for just a 460 not any particular viechle.
and i ask, are the valve seats already hardened in the factory block,
(mm have 2 let ya know what year i suppose and cant think of it of the top me head) so unleaded can be run using a high octane fuel 0r do i need to feed it some lube juice.

there are a few spec books on ebay at the moment for the ford 460 engine specs.
if its not a alloy head then its not set up for unleaded. but honestly this is a problem it does happen but it takes a hell of a long time. i have only ever seen one serious problem come from this it was a vn v6 commodore straight gas with no lube feeder this was a sales reps car and was fitted with gas at about 15,000km it pocketed the valve at 290,000 km so as far as i have seen its not something to get overly worried about. sure if the mtr was apart you would set the heads up for unleaded for sure but if its together dont bother if worried use a additive but add up what they cost you will pay for a engine by the time it became a problem anyhow. most cylinder heads come off for other problems(ie overheating, leaks etc) so you can worry then.
there is alot of scare mongering around this topic. thats my experiences with this subject anyhow
