1968'ish Stangs made in 80'ish?

I can sware I read somewhere years ago that Ford did a production run of Mustangs from the 1968 body style era in the late 70's or so. Has anyone ever heard of this??

Question

That's a new one on me, but if you had one I imagine it would be very valuable.

Maybe you're thinking about where Carrol Shelby still had some of the original Shelby chassis around, and sold them as new in the 80's?

I have heard of this before, but has anyone ever actually seen one?

repro cars

No, but I wouldn't expect to see them either. If the originals are going for $500K then old ones sold as new are gonna go somewhere around there. I can't imagine why someone would drive one around here, too much rain and too many idiots on the road to risk that much money.
