mad 1970 Mustang with a newer model 351W (help)

I have a 1970 mustang... its awesome. i've always wanted a mustang. They truly are the idea of muscle, and there sleek design has always captured my interest.

unfortunatly the car came without an oil pan. :( and the engine is a newer model 351w. like an 80's or 90's the engine hasnt even been hooked up. all the bolt patterns for the trans is correct. but the ****ing oil pan has turned into a nightmare.

the problem with a 1970 oil pan is that the crank shaft sump in the back is a lot smaller than the back crank shaft sump of the engine i have.

so i was wondering if anyone had any ideas about getting an oil pan that will fit. i checked summit, and they have late model oil pans that would work for 1979-93 but im worried that those will be too big and hit my front suspension and shit.

and i would just sell the engine and get another if the engine didnt have roller crank shaft and heads on it. this engine will kick ass it just needs some help

any help would be appriciated.

Just get a front sump pan and pick-up for a 69-70 Mustang 351w. You will need to add a dip stick as the rear sumps have them in the pan and not in the front cover.

A pretty old post, but anyway... When you buy or use a 1970 Mustang front sump oil pan on a later engine, you need to buy the proper front sump "oil pump pickup" to go with it.
