Hey guys, I am wondering if it's possible to use 67 mustang parts on the 66. I know the differences are in the interior-dash, but are the front ends/bumpers, headlight buckets and all that stuff the same or different? Basically I just want to know if I can use the 67 valance bumper grilles and all that stuff on a 66. Thanks guys!

If you are talking about the model change then I think there are probably differences in the width of the front end . When Ford moved to the 67 model , they made allowance for fitting a big block so I think the front end grew wider which would make it difficult to fit the bumper and valance. Why are you attempting this sts. Is it a special project ?.

Well actually I have a ton of 67 front end parts and today I found a great deal on a 66 missing all the parts I have, so I was hoping that I would be able to interchange them. But if a 66 can't handle a big block without modification then I can't buy it anyway since I have a 390 ready to drop in.

I'm quite sure you can still get the 390 into the 66 engine bay sts but the factory quite often builds things to suit a factory criteria for clearance etc. As usual there are many aftermarket engine swaps done that the factory never intended to have happen. Those parts may still fit with some modification too but it depends on how much you want to do. I doubt it will simply be a bolt up job though.

The ideal would be to find a 67 that needs the things you have . Nothing is ever that simple though lol.

Yeah haha I've been searching for months trying to find something that fit close to the criteria of my needs, something with no engine/trans and with a good interior etc. I'm sure something will come along soon on Ebay or in the local papers. This time of the year people want to get rid of the stuff they got lying around. Thanks for the info!

What front end stuff do you have? I could use some for my 67! I was comtemplating selling mine a while ago, if the right price came up. However until that happens, i'll keep plodding along.

After months of searching I've finally found the right 67 Mustang for my project. It was on Ebay and the price was just right. So now I can use up all my performance parts-sorry guys :)
