To be very honest the same tricked out 6 would be your less problematic. Putting in a 390 is going to be a problem but can be done. Once you make all new mounts for it now you have to hold it up. Then you have to get the transmission and differential to stay together. If your rear wheel rims are 4 bolt it won't. Then you have to figure out how to cool it because the 8 cylinder is to short to have the fan reach the rad. Now you have to make an exhaust system. The original was only made to run along one side only. And it goes on. Your better off finding a mustang that came with a V8.
