69 Mustang diff/axles spline

Hi,
Ive got a 69 Mach 1 Mustang and want to know if anyone can tell me how many splines on the axles. Its a 9 inch. Is it 28 or 31 splines? Reason Im asking is because I have a 28 spline mini spool and want to put it in, but for some reason I have a feeling the Mach 1's had 31 spline axles. ANy help would be good. Thanks,
Tom

It depends on the model. If it is a Big Block SCJ then it is 31 spline but the majority of the smaller engine cars got 28 spline. I would be fairly sure it is 28 spline but pull one of the axles as it is pretty simple to do and check it out for certain.
