I know it's normal for the shifter to get hot after driving for a while, and in this colder weather that warmth emanating from the bottom of the car is kinda nice!

But, how long should it take for it to cool off? I notice that when it's pretty warm (not too hot to the touch) and I let it sit for half an hour or so, it's still pretty warm when I go to drive it again. It never gets much warmer, but what's "normal"?

think about it, there's a LOT of metal in that transmission, when you get it up to temperature it would take a LONG time to bleed off that heat, especially with no air circulation.

Thanks! Today it was really hot after a shot period of time but it was a warm day and I was driving in a bit of traffic at first and that stop/start is not good for my pony.

After 2 hours of cruising around it was hot but not unbearable, and it was getting chilly so I welcomed that bit of heat.

Everyone was out cruising on the holiday, it seems!
