I am having a problem with my 1971 mustang, its got a 1969 351W with a comp cam and a 600CFM Edlebrok Carb, but the problem im having is the ignition i have it set to 351 firing order, i set it at it at top dead center and try to start it but nothing, ive tried it on a 302 firing order as well just to see what would happen and still nothing, i have had it start before on the 351 firing order but then i replaced the cap and the ignition coil, so i cant see why it wouldnt start and im out of ideas to try.

WOW .. This is exactly every thing I would have done also.
Have you check to see for sure you have SPARK?? And also Fuel getting to the Carb??? An you said you TDC on #1 Cylinder This is Puzzler!!

i actually figured it out it was the coil i bought for it, it wasnt giving a good enough spark, but now i have another problem with my ranger, seems like i got 1 thing fixed and another vehicle startes messing with me, my ranger is acting like its not getting spark now, its a 93 3.0 and i cleaned the battery termianals, i checked the coil, the only thing i can think of for that is the neutral safety switch but i have no idea where that is.
