Sound deadener on floors

Greetings!

I have heard that some folks have bought from Lowes or Home Depot,
an asphalt kind of material that they have put on the floors, prior to carpet
to help resist moisture and that acts as a sound deadener. Has anyone else
heard of this?

Thanks.

Sound Deadening PAds.

Can be purchased in Sheet form. Has an adhesive on one side, and conforms to body shape with application of heat....eg Heat Gun.

Where to get it in the states.....NFI....but the description should help you when querying trade paint/refinish suppliers.

Cheers
Jas
