confused 1966 T-Bird Conv.

I need a diagram of the wiring to the trunk of this convertible. It worked just fine until some new rear springs were placed.

I don't understand why you need a wiring diagram after a spring replacement. were the
wires set on fire as someone torched the springs off ? there are only 7 wires back there.
If you have a trunk light 8. what worked just fine until new springs. Need more info.

Take it from me, theres more than just 7 or 8 wires in a 1966 T-Bird Convertible. The top is fully automatic (Decklid opens, upper panel flips up, top retracts, decklid closes. Raising top is opposite.), and it has sequential turn signals. To the original poster, what exactly is it not doing, Does the decklid not unlock??? Does the decklid unlock but not open??? Does the upper panel not flip up??? Does the top itself not retract??? Does the decklid not close after top retract??? Does the decklid not lock??? Post what it's doing and I'll scan the appropriate diagram and diagnostic procedure.

Re: 1966 T-Bird Conv.

Remove the rear seats. You will find a collection of relays on both sides. First thing is to remove a harness at a time and clean off any corrosion on both the relay tabs and the harness. Then try again.

Also, any TBird manual will have instructions on making a jumper. If the cleansing of corrosion doesnt work, follow the jumper portion of the manual.

I wouldnt worry so much about the wiring yet...
