I'm wondering what the largest, lowest profile wheel and tire combo will safely fit under a 57 bird? I assure you that the original steel wheel/whide whites are going to be saved away. But I'm thinking of a set of aluminum wheels mounted up with more agressive rubber for recreational driving. I'm thinking of 16" rims (or 17's?) with a lower profile tire that would end up being close to the diameter of the original 14's. I can always bolt the originals back on if the complaints get too loud... Any ideas?
