t-bird steering wheel & exhaust

I just bought a 64 bird, 390ci. runs good, fair shape.
I was wondering what has to be done to slide steering over.
Is bigger better? Getting ready to put new duel exhaust on.
Would the 2 & half inch pipe be better than 2in. or smaller with flowmaster muffler. Want to add flame thrower to exhaust later,for show.
any input app.

To slide the wheel over put the car in park and push up on the shifter and push the wheel over to the right. When I put on the custum exhaust on my Galaxie the muffler guy said that I would be best using 2 1/4" and we went with stainless steel with Magna flow mufflers.
