Cruise Control for 74 F100?

In my previous thread, I asked about installing a 78 tilt column in my 74 F100.

One of the reasons I'm installing this column is that is also has cruise controls on the wheel. I would like to install a good cruise control to work with the OEM buttons. The engine I'm installing is a 428 FE with a Holley 4160. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Kerry

Re: Cruise Control for 74 F100?

cant help you much with this one but i do know that the older cruise controls were vaccuum operated.
so i would think that you should look for the whole cruise system out of a 78 otherwise it wont be compatible with your 78 columns buttons.

As a matter of fact, a lot of newer cars are also vacuum operated as well.

If you don't want to change the entire column, you can get an aftermarket universal cruise setup for it for a pretty reasonable price. I've seen them for sale in a number of parts houses. JCWhitney would be a good place to start on that.
