Question Engine Swap

I own a 1967 ford f-100, im wondering if I could switch my 242ci straight 6 with a Ford 302ci.

Re: Engine Swap

Don't you mean 240 ci Straight Six ?? if so then a 302 Cleveland will Bolt straight onto your Gearbox and Bell-Housing.Sandwich Plate and Starter Motor are also the same. However, although the Flywheel will bolt on and line up in every way...you cannot use it unless you get it Rebalanced to suit a Cleveland V8...otherwise it will be way out of balance, vibrating and shuddering as you drive.Or you can just use a V8 Manual Flywheel out of a Car or something. These look the same, but the V8 Flywheels have a Counterweight Cast into them. You may also need to rotate your Gearbox Crossmember around for Steering-Box clearance. You should also use Car Type V8 Cleveland Engine Mounts and have Engine Mounting Bases made up and welded to your Chassis or Front Crossmember or something. There will be a few other things you will have to do,but these are the main things...Goodluck !!!
