roll need help

hello everyone,

i need help with finding a wiring digram for a 1969 f100 truck . i want to change the disturber from points to elec ignition.where do i start?

You might be able to find a Mitchell at your local library.

NAPA is a good source for older truck parts. Any decent auto parts store should be able to find you a drop-in kit.

this might be obvious but, you can try a Haynes guide from a parts store, that's what I've always used for any of my vehicles. They have wiring diagrams and everything else you would need to know about your vehicle. I hope this helps.

The original post was made two months ago, so he's probably already done the conversion.

If not, what kind of electronic ignition are you planning on switching to? If you go with a points conversion kit like a Pertronix, there are no wiring changes needed, since the kit simply replaces the points. In fact, you can keep a spare set of points in the glovebox, and if the electronics ever fail on the road, you can quickly replace the points to get you back to town.

Switching over to a Ford Duraspark setup only involves two wires to hook up, if you've got the entire setup (distributor, control module, harness) from a donor truck.
