I have a 1951 Ford 2-ton truck that has what I believe to be a transplanted Y-block engine. It is obviously not original to the truck, but does not appear to fit in any of the more modern V8 categories. It has a two-barrel intake and a crossover pipe between the two exhaust manifold. What should I look for that will help me identify the year and displacement of the engine? It would also be neat to identify what sort of vehicle it would have come from. This engine may become a project for my automotive class and it would be nice to be able to tell the kids what they are working on!
