Hi, posting a q for a mate. He's got an AU3 XR6 (which came with side skirts), and due to an unfortunate incident will need to get his rear bumper replaced. He was wondering if the side skirts that come with the standard AU3 XR6 are the same ones that come with the bodykit for the AU3 XR6? (Because he was thinking of replacing his stock bumper with the XR bodykit one and doesn't want them to look out of place).

Just going through this at the moment, pass on to him he is looking at $1300 plus for the bumper.

Ok the actual rear bumper it self if i'm not mistaken is the same for Forte's, Futuras, Fairmonts and XR's. As far as i know there about $400 painted.

Not sure what your question is in regards to side skirts. The AU3 comes with the Falcon SR side rockers (small side skirts). As far as i know the rear bumper extensions are not a standard fair on the XR6 (ie seperate piece from bumper), it comes with the optional tickford body kit. Standard AUIII XR6's come with just the bumper on the back end.
Also the rebel rear bumper is a completely different bumper to the standard one.

btw teza68 sorry to hear you're going through the same thing atm :\

He's being told there are 2 types of ford bodykit. (1) The 'FTR' kit (I think this is the one that comes standard with the AU3 XR8?) and then there is just a (2)"body styling" kit. He wants to get the bumper from the latter one. And now finally here's the question :) :

He isn't sure if the existing side skirts he has, will be compatible/match the bumper from that kit (ie. things like will they "line up" / be the same height off the ground etc).

The problem is the repairer and the guy he is sourcing the bumper from are two different people and can't tell him for certain if it will work out.

I think i get ya now, your friend is after the (2)"body styling kit" rear bumper. I have the body styling kit option on my car and from what i see the bumper is identical to a forte one. The actual rear skirt is a seperate piece from the bumper, ie if you take the piece off it will look like a normal falcon AUII/AUIII bumper.

So to answer your question if he gets the AUII bumper he'll be pretty right. But if he wants to add the rear skirt on the new bumper, he will need the the side skirt pieces and front entension bars from the (2)"body styling kit" to make it look all nice and line up.
