AUII XR painted mirror parts??

Hello all, I had the misfortune to have my XR6 AUII ute's driver's side mirror knocked off by an unskilled driver(they seem to frequent around Church St Richmond alot) The perpetrator kindly left her details so I have to replace the mirror,It has the body paint coloured cover which looks to be removable but the local Ford dealer's parts man says probably not, so to save getting the new mirror painted is there a trick to removing these covers so I can switch over the painted cover to thew new mirror? Thank you for your suggestions
regards to all
Bill.

If you turn the mirror as far as possible to both the left and right you will notice 3 small flat clips, they need only a small flick with a flat knife or similar and wallah, they simply clip back on. A torch is very hand for this procedure.
