Question Ford XB Rust repairs

Hi im looking at an XB sedan and it has some rust in the A-Pillars, Just wondering if anyone knows how hard this is to repair? Can you buy replacement pillars and weld them in or is that a bit of a bad thing to do?

Any help would be great.

Cheers

Bryza

Re: Ford XB Rust repairs

Hi Bryza, just a few thoughts. depending how bad the rust is, it may be fixed. if the a pillar is too bad i'd search a bit wider and spend a few extra dollars on a better body. i don't think there are new pillar sections on the market. not many panel beaters will touch rust and if they will work on it it will cost an arm and a leg. i tried to include 2 pics of a WB ( files too large to upload, i wll later if i figure out how to ) i did for a former friend= he reckons i ripped him off/ charged too much, but no one else would touch it. however everyone i show the complete set pics to reckons it was a job well done and worth every $ spent for the end result. i won't disclose the cost here, but was a fraction of what it would have cost anywhere else.
regards Andrew.

XB falcons are nice, but depending on the rust, yeah as that other guy said, look around a bit more. look for a falcon that has the main sturucture of the car straight and preferably rust free. door skins, panels bonnets are all repalce able and alot cheaper than fixing the main structure of the car. anything is possible but, its better to start with something half good.
