Interior painting...

What paint would you guys use to paint the plastic stripping all around the interior? Would an interior gloss paint come up with a good enough finish or look shithouse?

I am thinking of painting them all black, and putting blue roof lining and carpet.. Something different... But I suppose that unless seats were the same then it would look really dodgey...

Another note - whats the best stuff for cleaning car seats??

Dan..

Painting interior plastic, I used semi-gloss enamel - White. With numerous clear coats over the top so that it won't smudge etc. My Camera is OS at the moment, so I can't take pics... :(

Cleaning your seats? Have a look in the yellow pages, some car detailers offer steam cleaning for them, I've heard thats prett good, and not too xpensive :)

Thanks

Yeah thanks AB...

I'm still in two minds as to what colour scheme - the seats are the only issue that I am not sure about... everything else can be painted or changed to another colour for reasonable cost. I can buy different seats but I sat in some at autobarn and they were hard as rocks!!! Another option would be seats from an XR or fairmont from a wreckers...

I might just bring everything back up to stock looking so I don't have to change the seats...

Re: Thanks

Another option would be purchasing car seat covers with the colour scheme you want.

seat covers..

Yeah thats an option Jack but I find that seat covers tend to "swim" around on the seats, especially as mine have lost a bit of their shape over the years...

But thanks anyway..

Re: seat covers..

i used the maguires interior cleaner to get some dirty muck off my seats, and some oil off my brothers velour (fairmont). worked a treat. about $12 a bottle.

Re: seat covers..

I use Polyglaze general purpose cleaner for spot cleaning on the Ghia seats, works well.
On the other hand, my mate work part time in a car was bay thingo. I quite often steam clean and de-odorise the interior for nothing. When I'm real bored, i'll clean engine and under the car as well.

As for the interior paint, I’ll suggest nothing besides 2 pack paint!
