Anyone had any good dealings with paint shops in Melbourne? I just got a can mixed up, mixed off the code not the car. It's alright, til you factor in the 11 years of fading on the car. I thought it was just a platic thing after I did the door handles but a bit of metal work has proven me wrong.

Right now it can stay, but being a perfectionist it's gonna shit me within a few weeks. I need the bumper and a spoiler done so I'll be getting a tin mixed up for a compressor job, anyone wanna recomend a place that hasn't had any worries matching faded metallic paint?

I'll polish the metal bit tomorrow but I'm not expecting miracles.

I understand it won't be a PERFECT match, but something that doesn't stand out like this would be nice.

have you put clear on it? this might help it blend in better.

Yeah there's about 4 coats of clear on the door handles.

hmm then you got a problem. if you take a sample to ford (petrol flap)they can do a colour match for you and mix some paint up (not in pressure pack). they use PPG paint, dont know if this is a good brand but its what they use. I dont know if all ford dealers do this but at Bayford spare parts in cambelfied they do. just keep the handles you got for now and get some EF ones, paint them up to see what they turn out like. if it's good slap em on if its worse leave them off.

How much do they charge for how much paint?

i think you can buy a sample pot (250ml) for $30 or something and 4 litres was like a $100 however this was for a non metallic colour will brobably be more for metallics.

depending on wether you use 2pack or acrylic, a good job about 4-7 Lt of colour and then your clear

try crash repairers as well...the ones that have their own paint booth and baking bit. they usually match up paint really good so ask them where you should get the paint from.
