i washed my car today and have noticed that the pain is fading on the bonnet and i though that i could respray the par the is fading. what would i have to sand the part that is fading then respray it is this right

you may want to try giving it a good polish. worth a try!

cut n polish,or buy that B.S paint/polish that has the paint and wax stuff in it worth 28bucks (around that)but does a average job on my bad paint fade/scratches(deep)..

you should try and polish it before you respray it...it's easier. If the paint is really bad, get some 1500 grade wet and dry paper and a sanding block. Wet your bonnet and rub it back until the shine disappears, don't sand in the same spot too much tho, you only wanna take off the shine not cut thorough the clear coat. Now get your hands on a rotary buffer and some fine cut polish and give it a good buff on the lowest speed (usually 1000-1500rpm). Keep the buffer moving and don't keep it in the same spot for too long or it creates heat which is not good for paint. Once you've done that, polish it with some good wax. I use Meguiars Yellow wax which is pricy but good.
