Anyone had this applied to their car? Is it worth the $600?

It's not worth it really, spend the $600 on something else. You will never notice the paint protection.

The dealer will try and sell you kinds of add on services......rust proofing, paint protection/glazing, scotch guarding, doobywhacker anti-static gizmo charging etc...

Just say no. You can get all these things done by yourself at a much cheaper price, cutting out the dealer/middle man fat on the top.

PLUS, some of these services are total crap anyway. Paint glazing? Is a car a donut or something?

You don't need paint protection......look after your car, clean it often, give it TLC instead.

And if you must get it 'rustproofed'.......take it to someone who you see an example of their work before hand...they should do a frickin thoroughjob for it to be worth the cash. And to be honest I'd probably still only get it if you lived real close to a beach or a lead mine!

PS does anyone know what rustproofers use to rustproof anymore? Do they still use fish oil, or wax or sump oil??? Or something else?

I had paint protection on one car, a complete waste of money. Buy a good wash and wax brand.

Be careful of rust protection. A friend of mine had it done to a new BA Falcon. Whatever they sprayed got between the muffler and the body and emits a very foul smell as it burns off, it is so bad he has to have the windows always up. He has had it in at the dealer a few times to get it steamed off but it doesn't help.
The poor sucker also got paint protection!

Someone was saying in another thread yesterday that its just polish. And most of that money($600) goes to the dealer or rep???

dealer gave me windows tinted, fabric protection, paint protection $770 the lot, you never have to polish your car, just once a year inspection any fading or bad paint they will fix for free. its like a insurance policy for your paint..
