paint touch ups

I have fixed up a few small paint chips on my EL (around 4 to 5 mm in dia.)with the small colour matched paint sample supplied with the car. It's a metalic blue and the 'spots' have turned out quite dull. Do I have to use a clearcoat on top ? Can one buy small sample to cover the touch ups?

Re: paint touch ups

Go to a Ford dealer and get yourself a fresh tin of touch up paint for about $7. My Fairmont's Artic Blue (read: pain in the arse to touch up any imperfections) and it comes up mint everytime. Did you shake the tin properly before you started applying the touch up paint? The paint in the tin should match perfectly...

Re: paint touch ups

Hopefully they supplied you 2pak and not acrylic. Acrylic will dry dull. 2pak wont.
