Painting sidestrips and bumpers

I was thinking of painting my sidestrips and bumbers stark white to match the rest of my car. Then placing a chrome or similar coloured strip where the current light grey one is. What do you think? Also what is the best way to go about painting them? If someone else has done something similar to their car can u post some pics?

Cheers

My Chrome strips have all gone the way of the dog's breakfast. So I'm pulling them off to and painting a strip (not sure what colour yet) in place of them. I have no intention of selling the car and I have in the E-series, the chrome strips aren't worth the money. Just an opinion, but I'd avoid putting chrome strips on.

They are colour coded, but only the outer shell, I would suggest NOT painting the whole thing as IMO it looks a little "cheap" <- obvious lack of a better word

Ok. How would i go about painting all this plastic (bumbers, side strip, door handles). What sort of paint do i need and how would i go about getting these parts off the car so i can paint them
