Hi can anyone reccomend a panelshop in the geelong area that would do a good job on my XA, I have tryed to get a quote from a few but they only do insurance work and newish cars, The XA's not bad for it's age no rust, Dents are mostly ripple's on the bonnet & quarterpanel, Paint is still in good condition My buget is around $5000-$6000 for the dents repaired and 2 pac respray, I can strip the car before the work starts.

My brother works for Fyans Street Panels and does homers for a damn sight less than $6000 maybe $1500 depending on it's condition and would turn out better as he wouldn't be charging by the hour he is also a perfectionist and does air brushing too.

I got a quote done the other day from a local panelbeater, The bloke's loved my car so much they pushed me into going baremetal for alittle extra, 2 pac copper bronze, with the satin gt blackouts. $6000, and extra if they find any rust, The downside is that there moving shop and cannot start untill a few month's.

what shop is that? reason i ask is i work in the repair industry and i dont know of any geelong shops that are moving at the minute.......

5-6k is a top price for a baremetal paint job from a panel shop, I wouldn't complain to much , just make sure they have good workers there, as a metal job only comes out as good as the skills they have ..
actually I'd ask them for an example of there work eg. another car done to bare metal prefferably a few years old ..

dont go to nardi panels there quality has slipped heaps a bloke i know had his brand new crashed subaru liberty done there and i havent seen a more lousy job done for a long time..
