Tailgate paint blemish
Just picked up my F150 about 2 weeks ago. After a few days I noticed a very small (about 1/4 the size of a dime) paint chip in the lower right corner of the tailgate. It looks like it may have been a paint drip that burst. I brought it back to the dealer and he said that they would pay to have it fixed by the auto body shop. I then brought it to the body shop and the guy said that it would be best to try some touchup paint followed by a sealer first to see if it worked and did not rot. He seems to think that it will not rot out. He said that he would rather not paint a new truck if he doesn't have to. I then went back to the dealer and asked for a new tailgate (I already applied a spray on bed liner) but they said that they would not be able to switch the tailgate due to the spray on liner. What do you think that I should do? Is it worth fighting for a new tailgate? They also said that I can wait for the a while and have it repainted down the road before the warranty runs out. The blemish is barely noticable, I just do not want it to rot. Thanks
